Worship Across Culture and Language

During our vision trip, we had a number of opportunities to attend churches and small groups in Costa Rica and Mexico.

On our Sunday in San Jose, we attended the church pictured below with one of the ReachGlobal team members.

It was a beautiful service (at least we think it was, our Spanish comprehension is fairly limited right now!) The people were so very friendly and understanding of our tired kids!

The music was so great. At this service, and the other worship experiences we shared in Latin America, it was a joy to see how – by God’s grace – the language of worship through music is so universal. Even though, we couldn’t understand many of the words, the sentiment was so clear and wonderful.

Oh, and the view didn’t hurt either!

A Little Background

If you’ve read the About Us section, you’ve got a little sense for us. The gist is: we love Jesus, we belong to a great church here in Washington, DC, and we are raising support to move to San Jose to serve with ReachGlobal.

Last August, we took a vision trip to visit San Jose, Costa Rica to get a sense of if that is where the Lord was calling us. We had a wonderful time with the team there and we are excited to join them as they work with local partners to impact San Jose with the gospel.

We’ll move as soon as our support (funding) is raised. After we arrive in Costa Rica, all five of us will spend the first year at a language school learning Spanish and Costa Rican Culture. After that first year, Peter will serve as the City Team Leader.

We’re tremendously excited about what God has in store for us, and we’re so excited that you’re joining us on this journey!
